Introduction

Academic life can be stimulating but very lonely, especially when you're in a distance-education program. I'm working on a doctorate in psychology through such a program and am about to enter the essay stage, which is the first phase of the research/dissertation process. In preparation for this whole process I'm currently struggling with issues of organization and productivity. This blog represents me talking to myself, trying to gain some perspective on the questions of Life, the Universe, and Everything related to higher ed, research, and dissertation writing.

the relationship or proportion of the parts of a whole, regarded from a particular standpoint or point in time; a specific point of view in understanding or judging things or events.
meta-
going beyond or higher, transcending; used to form terms designating an area of study whose purpose is to examine the nature, assumptions, structure, etc. of a (specified) field.
Metaperspective is the theoretical study of perspective, or point of view, in all its manifestations.
